Gallery 181     1997 College of Design Iowa State University, Ames,Iowa SITE Gallery     1997 Los Angeles, California Each Piece is a Cedar Cone 44" High by 32" Diameter at Base Qanat consists of five wooden cones, each with an integral water system.   It was inspired upon seeing ancient under-ground water moving systems in North Africa and Central Asia.   As viewers pass by each cone they hear the sounds of rushing water much like the sounds emanating from the subterranean aqueducts themselves.
